Funded by USAID under the BRIDGE project, this PRB wall chart includes data and information from 27 countries. Indicators include national prevalence rates of female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C); rates by age groups and geographic area, types of FGM/C, and type of practitioner; and status of national laws against the practice.

Thanks to ongoing efforts by researchers, funders, governments, and NGOs, an impressive collection of data is now available that would not have been possible even a decade ago. It is hoped that this unique and accessible wall chart will be useful to those working for the abandonment of FGM/C and the improvement of women’s reproductive health, and in the design and implementation of effective programs and policies.
