In
2000 the GHS and the LINKAGES Project began
implementation of a nutrition behavior change
communication (BCC) strategy to improve infant
and young child feeding in 9 districts in the 3
regions of northern Ghana.
The program built on established governmental
and nongovernmental networks and communitybased
approaches. Interventions included radio,
print, interpersonal counseling, community
events, and mother-to-mother support groups.
