This paper examines the nominated “best practices” in financial sustainability plans (FSPs) submitted to the Global Alliance on Vaccines and Immunizations in late 2003. It develops and applies a method for identifying a “best practice.” The lessons from the identified good practices should serve as a guide to the preparation of future FSPs and to the revision of ones already prepared.
