Additional Information

Unlike much research on the topic, the research represented here does not start with the assumption that older age women are necessarily more disadvantaged than men nor does it elevate gender above other considerations as a marker of vulnerability. Instead, the research examines the extent and nature of interaction between gender and aging on a dimension specific and setting specific basis.
