CAFS is an African institution dedicated to strengthening the capacities of organisations and individuals working in the field of reproductive health, population and development in order to contribute to improving the quality of life of families in sub-Saharan Africa. CAFS was founded by the International Planned Parenthood Federation, Africa Region (IPPF-AR) and has been serving Africa since 1975. It is now a fully autonomous international non-governmental organisation. To achieve its mission, CAFS conducts courses and provides research and consultancy services from strategically located bases in East and West Africa, with headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, and a regional office in Lomé, Togo. CAFS services are provided by highly qualified professionals, who form a multi-disciplinary team within the fields of reproductive health and population and development.
